Housing Opportunities of SW Washington (formerly Longview Housing Authority)
The Housing Opportunities of SW Washington (HOSWWA) enacts policies and procedures to be administered by the executive director and staff. The HOSWWA reviews and approves financial auditing reports of program activities and provides oversight and direction for the planning of future activities. The HOSWWA provides these services to most of a three-county area -- Cowlitz, Pacific, and Wahkiakum -- excluding the cities of Kelso and Kalama.
The mission of the HOSWWA is to "provide opportunities for people who experience barriers to housing because of income, disability, or special needs, in an environment that maintains the public trust". This results in administration of HUD Section 8 rental assistance to low-income families of our service area, with provision for chronic mentally ill and other special housing needs as they may arise.
